A New Start

After five years on the web, the url www.bolicious.com expired. The web hosting expired. The hosting I had for those five years slowly got pretty unstable. Over the last 6 months to a year, it got down right aggrivating. Now if my website goies down a minute, an hour or even a day, I don't see it more then an inconvenience right now. But when my email is based on that server, it brings a lot more to a halt for me.

I moved my hosting to one with a 99.9% uptime guarantee and dropped the url bolicious.com. I prefer to just use www.artofbo.com. With the change will come a new web design. I will be combining my personal site with my portfolio site, therefor I am spending my free time carefully considering how to do this right.

I'm mulling over what to highlight, what to push to the back and what to drop completely. I want to keep the site professional, yet have a personal section that will have news/blog and pictures for the few times when I use them. I have a lot to really consider, so things will take a while to get figured out. I'm hoping to get a new site up soon.

Please bare with the existing site and it's now bug ridden navigation.

Playing Catch Up

It's been 4 months since my last update, so I'll sum things up for the 5 or 6 people that actually read this thing.

At the end of October, Erin and I moved out of Glen Arm and off the horse Farm I had lived on since January of '07. Due to our unhappiness with the way the house was maintained by the landlord, he agreed to let us out of our lease and we moved into a newly renovated apartment in Ellicott City, MD. My plans are to take the next 3 years to stay here and save up for a house. We really love the beautiful apartment and area and our drive to work has significantly been reduced. Pictures are up.

Speaking of work, Erin transferred to a new job that moved her into a much bigger Hyatt in downtown Baltimore. She is actually only a few blocks from my job now, which makes carpooling a regular thing for us. She loves her new job and it is more of a pace that she is accustomed to.

Erin has turned me on to culinary arts of sort and I've really taken a liking to cooking. We find ourselves cooking at least 6 out of the 7 days a week and we love it. Not only do we make some really fresh food that tastes amazing, but we can be sure to use healthy (and sometimes not-so-healthy) ingredients. For my birthday, she got me an awesome Wusthof Santuko knife. We also follow Gordon Ramsay on a regular basis. He is such an amazing chef. His scrambled eggs recipe has easily changed our weekend breakfasts.

We are having a nice, calm winter and are eagerly looking forward to the spring and summer. I'm ready for another season of mountain biking and watching some baseball.

25 Down and 25 Down

Today Erin and I went and rode the NCR dirt trail. At the 4.5 mile mark, we separated so I could ride to where I wanted at the speed that I wanted. I ended up riding all the way out to the PA border. It was a gorgeous day out and the ride wasn't too bad. I left my Camelback at home and brought a bottle of gatorade. Next time I will bring the camelback and look at going past the border and into PA to have a look around.

Two pics are here.

I ended up riding 25 miles. That is the farthest I have went so far. I am confident that I can put in at least 30 if I am properly hydrated and have a 5 minute rest half way to let my ass have a rest from the bike seat. Another thing I noticed today is that I was down another 3 pounds. That brings my loss down to 25 pounds so far.

Also added a gallery image viewer to make things easier to navigate when viewing pictures.

Banged Up

I went out to Reading, PA to ride with friends up in some pretty good single track trails. I learned how bad the tires on my bike are when I took a dive into some leaves and rocks coming down a pretty steep downhill. Took a nice scrape on my arm and leg. All in all it was a ton of fun and I can't wait to go again... but with different tires.

Three pics are here.
